"Phenom" is short for Phenominological World. A term created by the Humanistic Psychologist Carl Rogers. Rogers was the founding father of a new philosophical approach to psychology and began to spread his views in the 1960's. I always loved Dr. Rogers and have studied his methods of Person Centered Therapy. Now almost all agencies follow the principles set forth by Rogers and require Person-Centered Plans to be implemented into a patient's treatment for mental health disorders.
For over 20 years I have used the skills and techniques taught by Rogers and other humanistic psychologists in my therapy with individuals, couples, and families. A relaxed, non-judgmental and inclusive approach to the counseling process is a necessity and I always practice these principles.
Whether an individual, couple or family attend a counseling session with me, they can rest assured these criterion will always be applied the way Carl Rogers intended them to be! You will always be highly respected and placed in the utmost regard. You are always the person(s) in-charge of your care and you always are the focus. It's not about me, it's about you!
